The Magik Theatre is committed to the principles of arts education, promoting literacy , and providing quality arts programming for families, and fashions its programs to specifically address the needs of the San Antonio community and the creative education of individual children. The Magik Theatre offers a training program during the academic school year for budding teaching artists. Candidates who successfully complete this program are then considered for staffing our year-round educational programs.
This year-long program provides an opportunity for college and graduate students to expand their practical knowledge in theatre education trends, curriculum writing, and classroom instruction. Upon successful completion of the program, candidates may become eligible to join our teaching artist education staff.
By the end of this apprenticeship candidates will:
• Build a professional teaching resume.
• Be able to articulate their teaching philosophy.
• Have an understanding of how to use positive classroom management tools.
• Know how to create a safe learning environment with a focus on youth voice and creativity.

Our biggest hiring season is for Camp Showbiz, our summer educational program. We seek applicants who have experience working with youth, teaching, theatre, film, and directing.
