Alice & Wonderland: A Rock Opera
Based on the Lewis Carroll classic Alice in Wonderland, this version will take you to a wonderland you’ve yet to experience. Experience an unforgettable rock musical journey through Lewis Carroll's Wonderland. Presented in the style of The Who's Tommy, Alice & Wonderland introduces Carroll's most memorable characters - the Cheshire Cat, Humpty Dumpty, the Mock Turtle, Tweedle-Dum and Tweedle-Dee, the Mad Hatter, and the White Rabbit - through high-energy song and dance. Originally opened in 1973, Alice is the longest-running hit in San Antonio’s history.

Benito’s Dream Bottle

In this delightful bilingual musical about a young boy named Benito and his abuela (grandmother), when Benito finds out that his abuela has stopped dreaming, he goes in search of a mystical cure. His adventure leads him through his entire neighborhood, in and out of dreams. Finally he discovers the answer from Mister Laguna, an ancient curandero.

The Kid Who Ran For President

A musical about 12-year-old Justin Moon who decides to run for President: a hilarious series of events actually puts him on the ballot. La Cinderella
Written by Richard Rosen
This bilingual musical is a re-imagining of the classic fairy tale. It begins in modern times where a young girl named Ella is trying to adjust to a new stepmother and two stepsisters. Ella falls and is transported (along with her entire new family) back to colonial Mexico where Ella becomes La Cinderella, guided by an ancient curandero. It’s a wonderful story with great music which provides young audiences a glimpse into the life of the early settlers in the southwest.

The Nutcrackers: a Holiday Comedy

Peter and Wendy

Based on the play by J.M. Barrie
A modern re-telling of the classic story, where Mr. and Mrs. Darling have separated and Wendy lives with her mother and Jon and Michael with their father. One night when the parents, hoping to reconcile, are out seeing a production of Peter Pan and the children are at home by themselves, Peter Pan appears and takes them on a journey to Neverland. There they meet the Lost Boys, Captain Hook, Smee, and the rest of the pirate crew, as well as our good friend the crocodile. This rock musical is all about the importance of family, and the healing power of love, as well as the ability of imagination to cure whatever needs to be cured.

Phantom of the Alamo
An original musical by Richard Rosen
Written and produced over ten years ago by Magik Theatre Chief Artistic Officer Richard Rosen, Phantom of the Alamo has played for the last six summers to sold-out crowds. A hilarious mix of musical theatre and Texas history, Phantom is a hit for locals and tourists of all ages. The play features the wonderful finale "The 13 Days of the Alamo," where each day is portrayed through a parody of a Broadway hit. Pocahontas
Adapted for the stage by David Morgan
Experience the story of America's first Native American heroine. Pocahontas tells the tale of the young daughter of the great chief Powhatan and her friendship with English settler John Smith - a friendship that overcame fear. Pocahontas is forced to choose between her father's wishes and what she believes is right. A seamless blend of comedy and drama, Pocahontas is narrated by a unique comedic team - a wise-cracking chicken and a mischievous bunny rabbit. Roxaboxen
Adapted by Richard Rosen from the book by Alice McClerran
This play takes us to a time when vacant lots became places where children used their imagination to make magical worlds where children can play without fear. Set in Yuma, Arizona, in 1918, this true story is about a group of children who turn an empty hill filled with boxes and rocks into a town with roads paved in stone, amber, and amethyst. Roxaboxen is about the need for children to play without restriction, creating worlds where imagination rules.

Skippyjon Jones
Based on the book by Judy Schachner

Skippyjon Jones is no ordinary kitten. Oh, no - he’s actually El Skippito, a heroic Chihuahua. With a little imagination and a whole lot of fun, this frisky cat dons a mask and cape, and saves the day while stealing young reader's hearts.

Treasure Island
Adapted for the stage by David Morgan
Based on the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson
Set sail on the high seas with the original pirate story about a boy, Jim Hawkins, who is taken by a band of pirates in search of lost treasure! When Jim learns of the pirates’ plans for mutiny, he discovers he must pick a side, forcing him to grow up and do the right thing. Climb aboard and experience the tale that became the model for all pirate stories that followed.
