Where do we park during weekday and weekend performances?
On weekdays we do not have free parking available. You may try meters on Durango or E. Nueva. St. John's Lutheran on E. Nueva also has paid parking currently available for $5. Free parking is available on the weekends in the lot directly adjacent to the theatre. PLEASE NOTE: The San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) lot at the southeast corner of Durango and South Alamo is currently temporarily unavailable for Magik Theatre patrons for Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons. The SAISD lot can be reached by crossing Durango heading South on South Alamo; turn left on Water St. next to the old fire station and you will be facing the entrance of the lot. To get to the theatre, head north on South Alamo, across the crosswalk back toward downtown. We are on the right side 1/2 block up. Click here to download parking maps.
Do I have to pay for my infant?
Children under 3 years old are $2.
My child is coming to The Magik Theatre on a field trip. Do I need to make a reservation if I would like to see the show with them or can I just show up?
Reservations are required, so please call ahead if you’d like to attend with your child’s school. If you do not, you may not be able to sit with the school, or there may not be room at all if we are sold out. By calling ahead you will receive the school’s group rate, otherwise you will be charged a flat rate of $5.
How long are your shows?
Typically our shows last up to one hour with no intermission.
Is your theatre handicap accessible?
Yes. Please check in at our Box Office to confirm your reservation and we would be happy to direct you towards the handicap accessibility entrance.
What should I wear?
The Magik Theatre is a casual, fun family environment. Dress comfortably and bring a sweater in case you get cold in theatres! Children are also encouraged to dress up as their favorite characters from our shows.
I would like to buy a season pass, but we only have three people in our family. Do I have to use 4 tickets for each show?
A season pass entitles you to 36 tickets to be used in any configuration throughout our main stage season. Use three tickets for each show or bring a group of 35 people with you to one show for a fun get-together!
Can my child audition for your shows?
Our main stage shows are produced and performed by our adult company members. If your child is interested in learning and performing at The Magik Theatre, please visit the Education section of our site to learn more about enrolling in our Academy and Summer Camp Showbiz programs
Do you sell food and drinks at your performances?
The Magik Theatre provides affordable concessions for our families before and during our performances. Popcorn, candy and soft drinks are sold for $2 or less. With those prices, a trip to The Magik Theatre is a much more affordable option than the movie theater!
