A well-rounded education involves the arts – writing, drawing, performing, sculpting, dancing, composing, creating. The Magik Theatre believes that the arts are integral in providing youth with a culturally relevant and well-rounded education. As San Antonio’s leader in theatre arts education, The Magik Theatre is committed to keeping the art in education for our community’s children.


We are also committed to the invaluable gift of literacy, as it is our mission to develop a child's love and understanding of literature. By producing stage versions of classic and contemporary children’s literature, The Magik Theatre’s productions bring books and their characters to life for young audiences.

All of Magik’s productions are accompanied by a comprehensive study guide, packed with standards-based activities, in our effort to ensure that every show can be easily integrated into classroom activities, extending every child’s theatre experience as well as broadening his or her understanding and appreciation of a story.

 

By offering free and discounted tickets to young audiences through our Tickets to Literacy program, as well as scholarships for our Acting and Creativity Academy and Camp Showbiz, The Magik Theatre is committed to continually engaging new audiences by making the live theatre experience and the valuable skills it provides accessible in every way, financially and culturally. The Magik Theatre is proud to say that in the history of our Theatre, no child has ever been turned way because of his/her inability to pay for a ticket.
