Will meet Sept. 30; Oct. 4,14, 21, 28; Nov. 4, 11, 18; Dec. 2, 9, 16 All classes will culminate in an end of semester showcase on December 18, presenting what the students have been working on throughout the semester. Feel free to invite family and friends!
MAKE A MOVIE (Ages 10-16) Meets every Thursday from 4:30 – 6 PM Tuition: $175 One of our most popular summer camp offerings is now available during the school year. Make a Movie will start with the same acting basics as our theatre classes offer and then some. You're guided through all the Hollywood jobs: writing, directing, editing, and of course starring in your very own movie! Students will receive a DVD of their finished movie at the end of the semester. TALL TEXAS TALES...WITH A TWIST! (Ages 7 and 8) Meets every Thursday from 4:30 – 6 PM Tuition: $175 Texas is a big state, filled with even bigger tall tales. This course will focus on creating a new version of old legends, like Pecos Bill and Davy Crockett, all while teaching you acting fundamentals. Students will also work on southern dialects, characterization, and parody writing. So put on your cowboy boots and say "Yeehaw!" to a wacky new Texas adventure created by you! ADVANCED SKILLS FOR THE STAGE (Ages 10-14) Meets every Thursday from 4:30 – 6 PM Tuition: $175 Our advanced acting fundamentals class is for students who've already found their inner thespian. We start with a quick refresher of basic skills and then move quickly on to learning about different styles of theatre, from Italian Comedia dell'Arte to pantomime to Stanislavski. By the end of the semester you'll be a well-rounded actor with a wealth of theatrical knowledge. MAGIK GREAT PERFORMANCES PRESENTS: Into the Woods, Jr. (Ages 9-16) Meets every Tuesday and Thursday 4:30-6 PM Tuition: $275 This class is for students with previous musical theatre training. The
Magik Theatre’s Great Performances series gives you the opportunity to become
completely immersed in the process of rehearsing and performing a full musical. INTO THE WOODS, JR. is a fantasy filled journey through your favorite fairy tales, set to beautiful and challenging music by Stephen Sondheim.
