Acting & Creativity Academy Fall 2010 Tuesday Class Info
Will meet Sept. 28; Oct. 5, 12, 19, 26; Nov. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; Dec 7, 14 All classes will culminate in an end of semester showcase on December 18, presenting what the students have been working on throughout the semester. Feel free to invite family and friends!
VALIANT HEROES & HILARIOUS VILLAINS (Ages 5 and 6) Meets every Tuesday 4:30 - 5:30 PM Tuition: $175 Every superhero is actually an actor at heart. How else could they switch so easily between hero of the world and average Joe? In this adventurous class you’ll pick your own hero to play or even choose to become a wacky super villain. Either way, we’ll explore the age old balance between the best crime fighters your imaginations can create and the villains that try to foil their heroic plans! BROADWAY AND BEYOND: AN INTRO TO MUSICAL THEATRE (Ages 7-10) Meets every Tuesday 4:30 - 6 PM Tuition: $175 If you have dancin’ feet and a song in your heart, this class is for you! Join us on an exploration of Broadway and take the first steps to becoming a triple threat. This class will start from the very beginning and focus on acting, singing, and dancing, with a little musical theatre history along the way! So put on your jazz shoes and ease on down the road to becoming a Broadway star! BEGINNERS SKILLS FOR THE STAGE (Ages 8-12) Meets every Tuesday 4:30 - 6 PM Tuition: $175 New to the wondrous world of theatre? Jump in and join us as we introduce you to the tools every actor must know. Learn the basic acting skills you’ll need to jump on stage and fall in love with drama along the way. All you need is your imagination and away we go! MAGIK SCHOOL OF ROCK AND ROLL Meets every Tuesday 4:30-6 PM Tuition: $175 Always wanted to form a band? Here's a chance to do just that. Taught by The Magik Theatre's professional musicians - all wtih many years of experience playing Rock and Roll, writing songs, and working with young people - this class will give the young musician a chance to work on music skills, as well as learning how to put a band together and get the music out to the public. PLEASE NOTE: All students must have previous music training, instrumental or vocal. MAGIK GREAT PERFORMANCES PRESENTS: Into the Woods, Jr. (Ages 9-16) Meets every Tuesday and Thursday 4:30-6 PM Tuition: $275 This class is for students with previous musical theatre training. The
Magik Theatre’s Great Performances series gives you the opportunity to become
completely immersed in the process of rehearsing and performing a full musical. INTO THE WOODS, JR. is a fantasy filled journey through your favorite fairy tales, set to beautiful and challenging music by Stephen Sondheim. Join this class to bring your favorite childhood characters to life and see what transpires when all of their stories collide!
