NO PERFORMANCES NOV. 26, 27 & 28

Based on a book by Barbara Robinson

"The Herdmans were the worst kids in the whole history of the world." So begins one of the most popular books ever written. This comedy is about the holiday pageant that's held at the school each year. This year, the director, Mrs. Armstrong, breaks her leg, and volunteer Grace Bradley finds herself directing the show. The Herdmans show up to audition after they hear that all the kids in the pageant get candy at rehearsal. Grace is forced to cast the Herdmans in leading roles. Chaos ensues, and the resolution that follows makes for one of the most hilarious and touching experiences you'll ever have in the theatre. The pageant that should be doomed to failure becomes a rich and human spirit and the ability in times of crisis to become bigger and better than we think we are. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever will truly make you laugh until you cry.

THE TRUE STORY OF THE THREE LITTLE PIGS (Jan. 8th - Feb. 6th) View Details

January 8 - February 6, 2009
Tuesday – Friday 9:45 am & 11:30 am

Friday at 7 pm & Saturdays at 2 pm

Based on a book by Jon Scieszka, Adapted for the stage by Alyn Carderelli

There are always two sides to a story, and though all of us think that we know the story of the three little pigs, think again! In this stage adaptation of the popular book, a local news reporter is on the hunt for the real scoop about the "big bad wolf" and his supposed nemeses, the three little pigs. The reporter is determined to set the record straight about why the wolf visited the three little pigs in the first place - to borrow a cup of sugar to make a cake for his grandmother's birthday, of course! While we may believe that the wolf huffed and puffed to blow the pigs' houses down, the reporter uncovers that he simply had a bad cold and a powerful sneeze! Audience members will be called upon to act as the story's detectives, and will even help choose the story's ending. Children and adults will enjoy this fairy tale with a twist, and will learn a valuable lesson about learning both sides to a story.

View Details

February 16 – March 20, 2010
Tuesday – Friday 9:45 am & 11:30 am

Friday at 7 pm & Saturdays at 2 pm

Based on a book by Laura Joffe Numeroff; Adapted for the stage by David Morgan

If a big, hungry moose comes to visit, you might give him a muffin to make him feel at home. If you give him a muffin, he'll want some jam to go with it. When he's eaten all your muffins, he'll want to go to the store to get some more muffin mix. In this hilarious sequel to The Magik Theatre's 2009 runaway hit If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, the young host is again run ragged by a surprise guest. Last year, the boy was visited by a tiny, fast-moving mouse. This year, his guest is bigger and his head is adorned by a gigantic set of antlers. Join us as we see what kind of havoc a moose can make when you invite him into your home and offer him something just as sweet as - but perhaps just a little larger than - a cookie.

Wednesdays at 10:30 am and Fridays at 7 pm

Fairy tale; Written by Richard Rosen

Based on the classic Grimm Brothers fairy tale, this hilarious musical spoof takes place long ago in the mountains of Central Mexico. The Duke of Valeciana lives in his palace high on the hill overlooking Guanajuato, a city whose mines produce most of the world's silver. Snow White, his young daughter, is the happiest child in the world. One day the Duke brings home a beautiful but vain bride who carries with her an enchanted mirror. The years pass and Snow White grows up to be a beautiful young girl. Her stepmother, the Duchess, who has been asking the same question every day since she arrived in Guanajuato, asks again, "Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who in the land is the fairest of all?" When the mirror tells the Duchess the truth, she becomes obsessed with getting rid of her stepdaughter. Snow White must flee the city for the high mountains, where she befriends seven amigos who work the mines. They take her in and try to protect her, and the rest is a story that can only come to life onstage at The Magik Theatre.
